What if I want these designs on some other item, like a bag or a different style of shirt?

That option may become available after we’ve delivered the first run of shirts and have set up the designs as print on demand (setting up print on demand is one of the things this project will fund.) For now we have to keep the options limited so that we can get enough orders of single items to order in bulk.

Will these be the only colors available? Why only white and black for 4XL & 5XL? Why is pink only available in women's sizes?

For now, yes. These are the colors that will look right with the designs we’ve created and are broadly available across shirt sizes and types.

4XL and 5XL are only available in white and black because those are the only colors offered by the shirt manufacturer in those sizes.

Pink is only available in women’s shirts because that is what is offered by this particular manufacturer. If they offered pink in the other style of shirt, we would offer it too.

I used to have a favorite Schlock shirt that isn’t one of the ones offered here. When are you bringing back that design?

Some designs are permanently retired because of artwork issues. Others are retired because they cost too much per shirt to have printed. Some designs are simply lost in the deep archives of multiple computer switches and backups over eighteen years. Some designs will be re-appearing as print-on-demand options once we get the shirt section of our store running. If you want to request the return of a particular design, feel free to email [email protected] and place your request.

Why are the shipping costs set where they are?

We have run the numbers, weighed shirts in packaging, calculated the packaging costs, and hiring help to create and send out the packages. We have set the shipping costs as low as we can without losing money. Unfortunately shipping rates have been going up steadily, particularly for international packages. (International for 1 shirt is $25, for the 3 shirt bundle is $50.)

If you are an international customer, you might check out services such as Parcel Monkey that let you have your packages sent to a US address and then forwarded to you at a discounted rate. Our company is small enough that we don’t have access to those lower rates directly, but some forwarding services do.

I backed the Random Access Memorabilia Kickstarter, can I combine my packages to save on shipping?

This is something we can do. Kickstarter will charge you the full amount, but once the surveys are complete, Sandra can combine orders and refund shipping.

Choosing to do this will delay delivery on the shipments until everything is available simultaneously.

How much extra will it cost for the 4XL and 5XL sizes?

Add $1 per X. So a 4XL would be +$1, a 5XL would be +$2. Those costs are the additional charged by the shirt manufacturers.

Why is the delivery date in July?

The Kickstarter closes on April 10. It takes two weeks for Kickstarter to finalize funding, so that will happen May 1. We can’t send out surveys until the funding is finalized.

Then we need two weeks to collect surveys via Backerkit so that we know what sizes and quantities to order. This may go faster if everyone is quick about answering surveys, but I’ve allowed two weeks, taking us to May 15.

Then it takes 6-8 weeks to get shirts from the printing company. Again, this may go faster, but when estimating delivery I always go with the longest expected timeline. That lands us mailing shirts in July.

Can I order other items from your store and have them added to my shipment?

Yes. When you fill out your survey you will be able to add items from our store to your package. There will be additional shipping cost for heavy items, such as books. Light items like pins or coins will not have an additional shipping cost.

What is the fabric content of these shirts?

These shirts will all be 100% cotton.

BackerKit FAQ

What is BackerKit?

BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!

The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.

How does BackerKit work?

After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.

I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?

The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.

Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.

To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.

How do I update my shipping address?

BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.

When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?

That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.

I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?

As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
